A new approach.
Olivia’s Gift is the outgrowth of one family’s search for meaning and hope after a severe brain injury changed their daughter‘s and their family’s lives forever.
As a child, Olivia enjoyed access to superior educational services offered by her school—the Lincoln School in Grand Rapids, Michigan—which provides friendship, support, advocacy, and advanced therapies for severely disabled individuals.
As she neared adulthood, her family faced the challenge of how to continue the level of care and stimulation Olivia was accustomed to, outside the resources of the school environment.
Dan Henrickson’s design calls for a state-of-the-art apartment style living that will provide his daughter Olivia and other disabled adults with stimulating therapies in a family-centered living environment.
Thanks to the hard work and generous support of many, Olivia's Gift on Cascade Road opened fall of 2012 & Forest Hills Avenue summer of 2016.
We hope this is just the beginning. With your help, Olivia’s Gift can serve as a repeatable model for celebrated living for severely disabled adults across the region and across the country.
